Journal's of the Group (Old / Ended) Empty
PostSubject: Journal's of the Group (Old / Ended)   Journal's of the Group (Old / Ended) EmptyMon Sep 28, 2009 3:14 pm

*Five books stand in line, each entitles by a different name but each holding the same recuring symbol on the spine of each book. Taking them out, you discover them to be five different journals writen from the views of members of this so called 'Group'. Flicking open each one and reading it, you can piece together the events of most every day and night these people spent together.*

Brattle's Journal (Felanar's)
Day 1
Today was simply grand. After waiting only a few moments in the mages tower, I saw Grindor (Dwarf) and Fendwel (Gnome) arrive via portal. Both were coughing and spluttering, complaining about how they despised such a way of travel. After a quick introduction, Narvetr (Night Elf) and Ustinya (Draenei) arrived.

Before long, we had set off. A quick visit to an armour shop, then five minutes to ourselves. I vaguily remember Grim saying something about alchohol before vanishing. Narv wondered off without really saying much while Fen just up and vanished right in front of me! Damn rouges, eh?

Once we were abck together, we talked plans! being in the trade district, someone 'Overheard' our chatter and warned us of Goldshire. I assured him I already knew, even if my companions (Who, might I add, were not from these lands) did not. The road to Goldshire was quiet up until a Defias jumped us. Grim, being the violent sod he is, swung up his gun and blew the buggers jaw off before she could even make her threat. I told the group that the women was not innocent and warned them of the Defias.

It is agreed that somewhere along the line, we'll take it upon ourselevs to hunt a few of them, perhaps make a name for ourselves in these human lands before moving on? Either way, a short dance and a quick laugh later on the outskirts of Goldshire was all that was needed to forget the event.

After arriving, we dived straight into the Inn, bought out our rooms and went our seperate ways for the evening. I can hear Ustinya talking to what she calls a "Big Cat" in the room next to my own. I dread to think how Narv's putting up with Grin in that room with the two beds... Makes me chuckle, thinking about it.

Fen's snoring lightly from atop the Wardrobe next to me. I swear, if he says "Quizzitive" once more, I'll punt him! We talked a bit about camping tomorrow night before he dozed off. The group fairs well, my friends and I all agree that this wa sa grand idea.

Tomorrow, we help with everything we can in oldshire. Afterwards? Who knows?

-End of Day 1

PostSubject: Re: Journal's of the Group (Old / Ended)   Journal's of the Group (Old / Ended) EmptyTue Sep 29, 2009 8:27 am

((Epic pic, Tarn. How'd you make it?))

The second of two books in the line has a cover of deepest green, adorned with a painting of a golden leaf. Runes around the leaf tell you that this is the journal of Narvetr, member of the group.

Narvetr's Journal: ((Horad's))

It was a fine day in Teldrassil, when a messenger from Darnassus, our proud capital, arrived with a letter for me from my old friend Fendwel. The tricky Gnome had told me that himself and three of my other friends were gathering in Stormwind, to commit ourselves to a life of adventure. Immediately after receiving the letter, I began to train for some hours, whiling away the time 'till we were due to meet. I left Aldrassil and teleported via one of my Elders, well-versed in that art, and fund myself in Stormwind's Mage Tower. Ustinya, the Dranei, followed close behind from the Exodar and we re-acquainted ourselves. From there, we decided to supply ourselves with arms and armiur we may need for the journeys ahead, and Grindorm decided to include a copious amount of alcohol in his pack. I suppose he would share, if not, I might just tug on his beard! I met up with the others a bit late, and saw a stranger bid my friends farewell, and enter a shop. Quizzing them about his identity, Grindorm and Fendwel were quite vague, then Brattle said he had informed us to be wary of Goldshire. Despite this odd portent, we headed down a forest path, whereupon we were attacked by a young female human. Grindorm levelled his blunderbuiss and commited her soul to the afterlife. Myself, Fendwel, and Ustinya were shocked, to say the least, but Brattle let us know of a gang of bandits operating in the area, calling themselves the Defias. With our minds at rest, we surveyed the landscape from a hill, and had an impromptu dance on the rocks. After these distractions, we arrived in Goldshire. A number of armoured men and women wandered about the square aimlessley, some conversing with the narrow-minded authorities. I noted this, as they seemed to be given tasks by a certain male human. Inside a inn, we purchased three rooms for the night, one for myself and Grindorm, one for Ustinya, and one for Brattle and Fendwel. Unfortunately, the population of Goldshire proved themselves to be quite unintelligent and walked in and out of my room. Tiring of this, I decided to warn Brattle and Fendwel, then went to bed, after hearing a amusing story from Grindorm. I wonder what we have to do in this strange land. I'll strive not to raze any more farms.

- Narvetr

Journal's of the Group (Old / Ended) Empty
PostSubject: Re: Journal's of the Group (Old / Ended)   Journal's of the Group (Old / Ended) EmptyTue Sep 29, 2009 8:50 am

The third book along clunks as you tap it's spine, obviously metal, but bound messily in a light blue cloth, bearing the symbol of a gear with a dagger through it, sticking out of pages are blueprints and plans, along with brief snippits of poetry and stories, this is probably Fendwel Busybolt's journal, the gnome

Fendwel Busybolt's journal ((Stoenbrow))
Day 1
The day primary of mine and my companions journey held many supprises. First was the amout of ner-do-ells and idiocrats in human lands! but that is a tale of later in this log. The portal in the mage tower was foul... and master Droptin made it no better. Master Holmes was awaiting us upon the other side, and after being slightly amused by master Droptin's drunken antics, Sir Narvetr and Lady Ustinya arrived via the other portal most foul, which we then had to trave through to reach freedom! after a stroll most leisurly, and a talk most unproductive, we decided to head for the district of Trade in the nobe city of Stormwind, where master Droptin and lady Ustinya both bought themselves clothing most suitable.

Soon after, master Droptin ran off talking of liquids alcoholical, and sir Narvetr muttered somthing and left our presence also. I decided to leave lady Ustinya and master Holmes to find information pinnacle, after a quick roam, I found that we may be needed in the shire of Gold, after meeting back up with my companions, I informed them of this, and we prepared for a move most primaral, but a human of hair most quizzical approached us, warning that the shire was full of... I think he used the word "Bonkers" to describe them... a human phrase I am sure.

Upon the road most miniscule to the Shire of Gold, we built up a small precession most wonderful! It felt like a goodbye most randomal... after a brief intake of a view most wonderful and a dance most comical, we moved into the Shire of Gold, but not before a run in with, what master Holmes called, Defias! apparantly these thieves roam the lands of Human Royale, and master Droptin killed one with a shot most accurate, yet despicable.

Upon entering the Shire, we perquired beds quadral at the Inn.. I probably will not sleep with all my excitement anyway! so a fifth is excessive and unperquireble! by the sounds of it, my companions are asleep, so I will spend my evening researching in the Inn library most small and much updateable, and the village forge, most acessable, perhaps crafting a few gifts for my companions upon this great journey.

I must keep an eye open for wolves, I hear they have a taste for gnome.

((Wow! I love the descriptions of each persons book Razz The stories are great because they're told from different view points of the same story. I guess I should add a description of my book, eh? By the way, Horad, which picture of Tarn's are you talking about?))

*The first of the five books is bland, worn and you find only one thing about it eye catching - The unique symbol on the books cover. A purple crystal surrounding a clenched fist. The colour and aura of the book give it away as being Brattle's, the Warlock of the group*

The fourth book has a blue leather cover. On the back you can spot a pink gem surrounded by golden decorations. On the front is also a pink gem with golden decoration. Above it you see the name Ustinya. When you open the book you see letters swirling over the pages, which seems to be Draenic. Trying to read it you hear a voice in your head.

The nineth day of pre-winter.

I met the Night Elf Narvetr at the docks of Auberdine from which we took a ship to the Human city of Stormwind, where we were supposed to meet the Human Brattle, the Gnome Fendwel and the Dwarf Grinborm. We met at the Mage Tower. We quickly set out to leave the city, which I was really glad about. Nature was calling. After a short detour to buy provisions we went into the wild land surrounding Stormwind.

On our way we were attacked by a Human, claiming that the lands were his. The Dwarf killed him. It's strange to see the Humans battle each other.

When we arrived in the town of Goldshire we rented a room to sleep in. They promised me we would sleep outside next time. The crowds and culture are just not my thing.

Journal's of the Group (Old / Ended) Empty
PostSubject: Fifth page of the journal.   Journal's of the Group (Old / Ended) EmptyTue Sep 29, 2009 1:52 pm

You find a very blank and plane book with absolutely no decorations what-so-ever onto it except for the words on top of the cover stating clearly "Grindorm Droptin", yet the first page of the journal seems tattered and ruffled in a very obvious way. At some places the paper has been thorn appart slightly due to clumsy fingers aswell as several pint stains which covers the surface of the page.

Och 'tis be a fine day, damn fine if I were ta say soo meself. I packed me things this morning expecting ta see a bunch'o sad sacked sloths standin' before me once I reached my goal, boy I was in fer a surprise. I went going from my home in Loch Modan, locked the door, pated me portable keg and went going towards Ironforge.
Arriving in Ironforge, I decided that tapping a pint from me keg would nae be a bad idea while I stood there waiting for the tram to arrive. Half way into me six-seven-eight pint, I hear small footsteps walking across the metal surface of the tram station, echoing through the empty halls. That there was me mate Fendwel, a sneaky lil' bugger that would always make me stand like an idiot with his complicated gnomish humor... Meh.. Anyhow.. He took the middle tram and I the rear one, do nae think he had noticed me yet.. Once there we stumbled across a pair of mages that asked if we needed directions to anywhere and that they would transport us anywhere in the world fer a small fee. I took the offer and asked to be transported to the mage tower in stormwind, I took a hold of Fendwel before he really realised much of what was going on and jumped into said portal which is what I would describe the same as being a year without a single drop of alcohol. Once we hit the ground, Fendwel stumbles across into Brattle while I shot forward and landed on me stomach.

After a short reunion and waiting for Narvetr and Ustinya, we decided to stop by the trade districs, gear up and fetch our main supplies. We spent aboot 5 minutesish each to ourselves to get whatever we wanted. Of course after realising that I had emptied my keg just at the tram station, i instantly set course fer the nearest tavern to get meself a fair ammount of fine Stormwind brew.
After the five minutes were up, I ran back to the trade district center which all of the small kegs still stabled on top of each other, ballancing them as I went on.
We decided that we were best ta travel to Goldshire, were we would look for anything to be done so that we could earn a decent pay. Roughly said, I had ta beat the snot out'o some defias bandits on the way there seeing as they like to hide in bushes'n stuff like that, aye.
We arrived shortly after at the inn, rented ourselves a room for a major chunk of what copper we had gathered and went to our seperate room fer ta night. Fendwel and Brattle shared the first room up the stairs, Ustinya shared a room with a huge beast of which she referred to as "big kitty"... Sadly I was not allowed to reach for me boomstick that time...
When me and Narvetr had settled on which bed belonged to who, he instantly went asleep while me on ta other hand said that "A real dwarf does not go to sleep sober" and headed down the stairs to sit at the bar until the rest of the night was a gray spot on my mind which I can nae remember and woke up the other day with a major hangover... Still.. I havent even eaten any breakfast yet and someone get me a aspirin, please?

((One minor thing, tarn Razz The journals are all seperate, not one big book of 5 different journals. So you might want to change the short description of the page into a short description into the kind of Journal your Dwarf would keep Smile Perhaps one bound in loads of different kinds of animal skins, wrote in animals blood with fur and antlers sticking out everywhere? xD ))

Journal's of the Group (Old / Ended) Empty
PostSubject: Re: Journal's of the Group (Old / Ended)   Journal's of the Group (Old / Ended) EmptyTue Sep 29, 2009 2:17 pm

*As you flip to the second page of Fendwel's log, a scrap of paper falls out, as you unfold it, many, many small words, numbers and scribblings are visible, but the large picture in the centre looks like... a catapult, with a few modifications, attatched to a ram... mabye he makes note of it in his log?*

Day 2
Today was uneventful, having gone into a sleep most restless on a bench least comfortable, I awoke mid-afternoon, to find that master Droptin, master Holmes and Sir Narvetr had all awoken long ago, though lady Ustinya was still asleep.
I spent the day getting used to Stormwind... I have a feeling most subtle I will come here... alot...

On our way to the city Royale, a pair of bandits jumped us, but not Defias. these lands are most confusing... there is no crime in Ironforge! I was going to comply seeing as my funds were short anyway, but Sir Narvetr said we should storm through, so I ran into the woods and tried to find some guards, which was most unfruitful, but master Holmes found a way to bargain with them... I hope we do not engage them again, but soon after that, not only did a femal Night Elf help us, but I tried to get the guards... who were most unhelpful, one ignored me completly! how rude!

I was speaking to a fellow gnome later, and he told me the food in the Shire of Gold was corrupted with a poison most despicable! I assure you, I did not eat anything there! after speaking of throwing rocks at them... I had a flash of genius most fatastical! A Ram mounted, automated catapult! I will place the design in these pages for safe keeping. after spending some more time around Stormwind... I decided to settle down, the Cathedral took me in, even though I am no follower of the light, how kind of them!

I hope tomorrow brings adventures most fantastical!

Journal's of the Group (Old / Ended) Empty
PostSubject: Re: Journal's of the Group (Old / Ended)   Journal's of the Group (Old / Ended) EmptyTue Sep 29, 2009 2:48 pm

*The second page of Brattle's journal is the same as the first. One minor difference is that the corner of it is burnt away*

Day 2
A lazy day was today. After waking in the afternoon, I found Grindor, Narvetr and Ustinya sat around in a circle at the bar side. I joined them for only a short while. After grabbing a pint, Ustinya mumbled something about being tired and vanished once more up to her room at the Inn. Grin and Narv had obviously been up a while and said they needed a breath of fresh air, so they left me alone to finish my pint.

That done, went outside to find where they had gone. They were watching the antics of all the citizens of Goldshire. Not far behind me was Fendwel. He said something about falling asleep in the Inn's Library. He told us what he'd found out about the Defias, which is as much as any human knows. After the short explanation of his night time study, we decided that Stormwind would be a better place to spend our day.

Mid way along the road, we were jumped by a couple of bandits. Buggers wern't Defias, demanded all our money. before I really had time to put two and two together, Narv had burst through them leaving us to fend for ourselves. Deciding on the better part of valour, the three of us scattered.

I was, unfortunatly, caught on the outskirts of Stormwind. The hidden dagger pressed against my back was enough for me to listen and secret enough for the guards to not even bat an eyelid in my direction! He gave me a sack, told me to get the money from all members of the group and give it to them an hour from now at the exact same spot.

Having got away from them, I threw the sack into the river and cursed their faces into the dust! The rest of the day was a bit of a bore. My old job as a Mine Superviser let me sweet talk an old coligue into giving me some ore. I passed it all onto Narv to do with as he wished, then went about making myself some of the best armour I could. Tried my hand at enchanting, too, found it to my fancy.

While in the tailoring shop, Grin and Fend found me. Grin kept to himself while Fend had a right good old conversation with another Gnome who had been passign through. Didn't listen to what they said, too busy knitting (By the shadow, how gay do I now sound?) ((I don't mean offence to anyone with that last comment by the way!))

Ended the night on a street, hidden behind some crates. Who knows where the others have gone... I'll have to find them in the morning!

*as you flip to the third page of Fendwel's journal, your eyes are drawn to a drawing of a pair of goggles, annotated heavily, this piques your interest and you read on..."

Day 3

This day bagan most fantastical! soon after my jobs in Stormwind were completed final, my companions and I set out once again for the Shire goldal! beset by even more idiotical humans, we were comossioned to clear a mine of Kobold most vile!
collecting gold dust and candles as we went, we chanced upon a farm... where master Droptin hunted a few swine, at least we will eat well in the days upcoming!

Soon after though, myself and master Droptin were summoned back to our home, Dun Morogh, and after hunting beasts, Wendigo and Gnomes Leporal, I was summoned by a Rogue master none the less! he gifted me with a dagger most fine! I hope to use it much in events soon!

I decided to make myself some goggles also, they are not perfect, and are nought but simple, but do a fine job of procecting my eyes most valuable!

I rest in Ironforge tonight... may my friends have had enjoyable days also, I cannot wait to see them tomorrow and truly begin our adventure fantastical!

PostSubject: Re: Journal's of the Group (Old / Ended)   Journal's of the Group (Old / Ended) EmptyThu Oct 01, 2009 12:52 am

*You flip over to the next page in Grindorms book only to find the next page completely empty and blank except for a few black stain. You continue fliping to the next page and find the continuation to the previous chapter.*

Day 3.

Did nae feel like writing here last night seeing as the only thing we (I) did was hang around all of the local taverns in Stormwind, I even went to the library looking for the others... Did nae want ta stay there long though... They did nae aprove of me enjoying me pint. Everything else that day was spent in my usual hammered state I guess seeing as I woke up in the not-soo-nice-district in Stormwind.

Today we finally got going back to Goldshire, was tasked with exterminating a gold mind which was overrun with some sort of rat people, nae much of a challenge I might add. The only thing I found half entertaining was when I (accidentally... Ish) shot my rifle at a big brown bear. Do nae thing the others did aprove of that.

We was just about to travel to a local farm when a gryphon rider appeared out of the blue and gave me a note which contained a strict message from the "league of extraordinary hunters" for me ta get meself back to Ironforge to join a urgent annual huntsman meeting.

Fendwel came with me on the trip somewhat, did nae say much though. Once there, I had time ta finally enjoy the brewfest before skipping off completely hammered to the meeting, great success! Looking forward to get back to the others as soon as possible.

Journal's of the Group (Old / Ended) Empty
PostSubject: Re: Journal's of the Group (Old / Ended)   Journal's of the Group (Old / Ended) EmptyThu Oct 01, 2009 9:37 am

*Brattle's third page is full of scorning, hatred and evil. Why it is so different to those before and after is beyond you. Perhaps he is showing his true colours at last..?*

Day 3
Woke up on a cold street of Stormwind. God knows what I'd ben up to the night before. That slugish oath probably donated his last copper coin to the orphanage rather than buying himself a room at an inn. Bad start, got better though. Butched a few helpless critters in the forest. The group has finaly re-assembled, the pricks may even be of use to me at long last.

I havn't the slightest idea where they all came from, or how they found me. It doesn't matter, though. We cleared a mine of Kobolds, collected more than enough Gold Dust and Large Candles from the rats. We were on our way to slaughter some giant boar when a Gryphon rider swooped down and called Grindorn away on something. Fendwel went with him, leaving me, the elf and the freak alone.

They decided they had best get back to their own lands and see if they were needed in anything. Whether they caught a ship or a portal, I do not know and I do not truly care. Arriving in Stormwind, I visited the Warlocks in their 'secret underground hovel.' Nothing more than a crevis for the light-fearing fools to hide in, if you ask me.

None the less, they offered me a new minion should I bring back a choker from some ignorant little witch who had turned her back on them and joined the Defias thugs in Elwyn. I found her, krept up whilst she slept in a farm surrounded by the Defias. Surfice to say, she didn't have time to scream. Heh.

The bloodied Choker in hand, I returned to Stormwind. Having handed it back, the Warlock gave me my next set of instructions. I grew tired, however, and said I'd claim my minion when I damn well pleased. I now sit here, writing. Not even a day together and already the fools have gone their seperate ways once more. I'll wait for them before I pry my first -real- demon from the nether.

It shall be most... Fun.

((Edit: I made it a wee bit less violent, corrected where the farm was and the Choker))

Journal's of the Group (Old / Ended) Empty
PostSubject: Re: Journal's of the Group (Old / Ended)   Journal's of the Group (Old / Ended) EmptySat Oct 10, 2009 4:35 am

Day 4
I think someone else has been writing in my book... I'll keep that last page and ask the others about it later. As for today's endeavours - Turns out there was very little for the others to do in their own lands. In fact, three of them were there to see me tame my first demon! Odd, though, I've been feeling a little darker since. I'm sure it'll fade in time.

Today was fast-paced. Heck, I can hardly remember anything of it! Gnolls one minute, killing these scarecrow things the next... We now camp in Westfall. Not sure how long we'll be here, or how long we'll be camping for. Looking at the others, I'd say a little while.

Ah well, gives me time to catch my bearings, doesn't it? Tomorrow I'll explore some of the outlying area.

Day 5
I found an old house today. It's burnt down (Nothing but the chimney and two corners remain) but it's nice. I found something in the ashes of the chimney... It's a bracelet. I'll have to look about, see what else I can find.

Day 6
Almost a week into this pointless endeavour and nothing fruitful has come of it. If these drones don't start to haul ass in the next few days, I'll start setting fire to their belongings while they sleep! Why did i even come on this trip!? Being my bloody goody-good self, that's probably why.

This bracelet doesn't seem to have much of a use. Maybe it'll bring in a few coins at our next stop. I read up on what happened yesterday, found the house it mentioned. I don't know what I was looking for, but I've nothing better to do than scour these ruined foundations for valuables.

Hmph!

Day 7
I'm going to confront the others about this - If who ever keeps scribbling these hatful things into my journal doesn't stop, I'm going to start taking things personally! I woke up no where near the camp today... In fact, I was propped up against one of the corners of that ruined house.

Maybe the others don't want me in the group..? Maybe they've been trying to ward me off with those messages, even dragging me off while I sleep! As I said, I'll have to talk with them about it.

Still no signs of us moving out any time soon so I'll leave it till a later date. Maybe when we're packed up and ready to leave?

((Alas, the project has come to a close. Our 5th dropped out and we never found anyone willing to take the place. It was not selfishness that made us remain with the characters we had, it was the fact that we had already put a lot of work into them, along with money. It would have been a shame. Never the less, it was fun while it lasted and I'd like to see something like this pulled off one some day. i might try again some other day.

Cheers to everyone who took part, best wishes!

(( I thought I might as well continue Fen's journal... damn my inability to let go of good things! xP ))
*The next several weeks in Fendwel's journal are blank, but all of a sudden, the writing starts again*
By the Gears of Gnomregan... I must have been out for some time and the others presumed me dead!
They are no-where to be seen! Confound that Defias-human for his attack most violent! perchance I will seek my companions... and, if luck prevails, I will find a little out about what happend to my companions loyal!
Onwards and Upwards!

I spotted a Voidwalker just, and ran towards the beast phenominal, thinking it to be master Holmes, yea, it was not, and I ended up embracing a human male most confounded by my actions.

My heart skipped a beat, a Dwarven corpse! it could not be master Droptin could it?! Thankfully, it was not my companion dwarvish... yea I feel sorry for this one's family, as they may not know of his passing for some passings temporal...

(( A short while back, I decided I'd grab 4 guildies and make a group of 5 who would RP their way from level 1-80. Questing, exploring, all of it would be IC and done to enhance the gameplay, to make it last and to make it more interesting than simply "Run here, kill that, run here, grab that"...

Alas, the schedules of chosen people didn't all match up and, after only three or four events, one of the members decided they'd give in. Typicaly, we had a hard time trying to find a replacment for him and, in the end, it just fell apart =/ I loved the idea of this and was overjoyed when we got it on its feet. But, as you've probably already guessed, unmatching play time usualy means that we have few, if any, events.

We had a member of each race (Gnome, Human, Draenei, Dwarf and Night Elf) then one of each class, as far as we could get it that way (We had a warrior, a shamman, a warlock, a rouge and a hunter Razz). I wouldn't mind trying it again, but I'd prefer people who sign up for it to think about the time they have and the willingness to do it as, after all, it's one of those tigns which, after you start it, you backing out will ruin it for everyone else. ))

((Well, it's only a side project and guild stuff always comes first, but if you two are willing and we get another two, we can start all over again. No idea what I'd roll but it'll be fun Razz))

(( Fine by me, you are a good dwarf after all Razz Hmm... *Starts to craft a second list of people* This might just work, but we'd need boundaries, restrictions... If I recall, what really broke up our last group was, when one of us only had an hour to be online, we rushed off into the fray of battle and didn't RP the slightest bit xP Yes, there would definatly need to be restricions...))
